King C.Gillete

until October, 2005 when it finally merged with Proctor & Gamble. The company is named after the company product's pioneer, King C.Gillette who patented on November 15, 1904. After the patent was granted, the company, owned originally by Gillette himself, began manufacturing safety razors and disposable blades at a large scale and is still functional worldwide along with other items.

Elisha Otis

The Otis Elevator Company is an international manufacturer of elevators, escalators and moving walkways and is the largest company of its kinds. It is one of the most trusted elevator companies and has successfully installed elevators in many famous architectures e.g the Eiffel tower, The Skylon Towers, World Trade Center and Burj Khalifa etc. The name Otis comes from the pioneer of electric
elevators, Elisha Otis, who invented it in 1852 as a 'safety elevator'. Two years later, the project was presented at New York's World Fair at which it was immensely appreciated. Soon after, Elisha Otis laid the foundation of the World's first Elevator Industry, The Otis Elevator Company. To this day, Otis Elevators stand alone at the top as a globally trusted and recognized company.

Although, the first functional sewing machine was built by French tailor, Barthelemy Thimonnier, the first commercial sewing machine was pioneered by Isaac Merrit Singer. Singer Corporation, the first commercial sewing machine producing indusrty, was initiated as I.M.Singer & Co. in 1851 but was later on established as The Singer Manufacturing Company and soon after, The Singer Company. I.M Singer took position as the first president of the company and the mass production factory was established in New Jersey. By the year 1878, 27 years after the company's birth, the Singer Company had claimed to sell over 2.5 million units. Singer is one of the leading sewing machine manufacturing companies and after being owned by the Toyota Group in 2004, finds it's competition with the Toyota Group.

Levi Strauss

On May 20th, 1873 Levi Strauss, an American Jew of German origin invented a pair of jeans. At first, the jeans was only available in blue color and was made up of cotton. Today, jeans is made by
denim, a sturdy, loom woven thick cotton fabric and comes in many colors including black, white and indigo dyed jeans.. Although, the blue jeans he invented was worn initially only by miners but it embraced fashion industry soon after and became a huge success. The only fabric that survived the whole 20th century was jeans and it became the most common fabric among people over time.
